QS (Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings)
The London-based Quacquarelli Symonds company has been creating the world rankings of higher education institutions since 2004. The list is based on six criteria: faculty/student ratio (20 %), number of international students and faculty (5-5 %), employer reputation (10 %), the citation frequency of academic works related to the institution (20 %) and academic reputation (40 %).
Six Hungarian universities were included in the latest, 2020 world university rankings of QS. The University of Debrecen ranked 601-650. The Debrecen institution is preceded by the University of Szeged (470th place), while Eötvös Loránd University and the University of Pécs ranked in the 701-750. category, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Corvinus University of Budapest ranked in the 801-1000. category.
