György Gulyás College for Advanced Studies

The college provides opportunities for talented students of the Faculty of Music to immerse themselves in their area of specialty together with fellow students, prepare for Hungarian and international competitions, participate in the Art Section of the National Conference of Scholarly Students’ Associations (OTDK), and to be involved in performing arts and scholarly activities.

As part of their personal education program, the students work with their supervisors and receive their own, personalized practice and performance program, which includes practice, performance, and repertoire extension tasks besides their university duties, while it also helps with preparing for Hungarian and international master classes, competitions, and auditions of orchestras.

The college community puts together an annual program that focuses on segments of music education that can make up for any lack of knowledge; it organizes and offers master classes and it is dedicated to familiarizing new generations with music through various events presenting musical instruments. The annual program also includes educational music sessions for pre-school children and schools for children with special educational needs along with community programs, academic trips to significant art and music related venues and sights.
